WHY CAN'T THE FDS JUST LEAVE US 'YOUNG PEOPLE" ALONE?!
by stillAwitness inat the service meeting tonight we went over this week's scheduled bible reading at 1) chronicles 10-12. the brother explaining the bible reading explained the example for young people:.
" what can we learn this week young people from rehoboam's example?
that when you have problems as much as you may be inclined to seek the advice of your fellow peers you should seek out the "older men" in the congregation for help.

And guess what ??? If you chose to not take their advice, you get treated like shit by pathetic, would-be counsellors/mediators/advisors...So there's your choice.... Never trust a non-professional opinion or advice, which is exactly what you'll get from a JW elder.

But defd what right or obligation do you have to try and convert someone who, by their feelings and faith believe they have found God ? If they were to stand and listen to you and your lot mumble the same crap that the society has always said, would you give them your ear; would you allow them the opportunity to try and convert YOU to THEIR beliefs ? What makes someone elses relationship with God less possible, likely or close than yours or any other JW's ?

impact of meetings/assemblies on my non-JW life
by limbogirl ini grew up jw and like many of you spent countless hours in boring meetings and long assemblies that seemed to go on forever.
as a little kid i developed a talent for sitting at the meeting or assembly and looking as though i were paying attention but honestly i wasn't even in the room.
i perfected this over a number of years and now find that as a non-jw adult it's really a problem.

I guess I'm fortunate enough that in my day-to-day work as a carpenter/builder I have no flashbacks or hangovers from sitting in the meetings or assemblies. The only time those bastards come back to haunt me is if I'm having to listen at a product seminars or safety/skills courses......then the zone-out occurs.......... Mind you, sometimes I'm reminded of the serene, joyous quickbuild's via my job .......Now on those things I sooooo needed a radio or least to say...."FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK" on occasion.

Well, I had a few beers after work Friday - it's hard work being a carpenter (just ask Jesus)! Spent the night at home with my girlfriend, so while she's at work I'll do some housework and Xmas shopping, then maybe
prepare our Watchtower'soops, go out to a decent club or have a few drinks with her sister and bf at home....So, in a nutshell: Drinks, sleeping, relaxing housework, shopping, drinking, music, beach............yippeeeeee, no early rises to praise Jeh(so)over(it). -

Wifely Submission?!
by freedomlover inokay, what i want to know is honestly how many of you guys out there were actually attracted to the jw's because of the wifely submission thing?
and girls, how many of you actually had issues with the submission thing even when in the org.
?

I'd say so !! Just don't sit by me at the meeting on sunday, or we'll have to make an engagement announcement If you do however, I must have the outside seat just in case the brothers need me urgently for important privileges such as the mic's or to say prayer I have 5 sisters, 2 neices and 1 mother - none are Jw's so fortunately I had a balanced and normal view of women despite the inculcation of God's Word, lol...

Hi Freedomlover!!!!
I could never agree with the submission bullshit, neither could my sister. I was "courting" a girl when I was in, and we both thought it was shit too - there was no way we were going to have those policies in our life if we were going to get married....Jeez, she even wanted to keep her surname which suited me fine, didn't concern me one bit. Personally, I'm not attracted to submissive, quiet girls - all the women in my life are pretty strongwilled and (thank Allah) can think for themselves

My first time being shunned in public
by xjwms inso thats what it feels like.. i am not df'ed or da'ed, ... i have just stopped going to meetings.
my wife is trying to be as active as she can.. so all morning i am out of my regular routine.
late getting out of bed and late about everything today.. so i leave the house, and before getting to the office, i decide to stop at the mall for a quick, maybe 15 min, walk.. as soon as i get inside, taking my coat off, here is the elder who did everything he could in his power to get me out...and lied...and added to gossip that ran me outta there.. he and his wife spot me .. and turn there heads away and continue on their walk, .. eyes fixed on some thing away from me.. so thats what it feels like.........now i know.

I haven't been disf'd or disa'd, but decided a couple of years ago that "this is bullshit, I'm getting outta this" and left......Why give them the satisfaction of "rejecting me?", or even still-why should I write to them to remove myself, that's just another form of their control-it's what you're meant to do...according to them......
So anyways, I'm back in my home town in New Zealand at the moment (for xmas with Mum) and I've run into quite a few of the old JW's I know.......one was in a cafe, I was there with my girlfriend and I looked across at this guy-it was xxxxx, he was smiling when he saw me and we said 'hi' to each other......next , I saw my cousin (ours is a big JW family) and we had a great chat for a 5-10 minutes; no arrogance, preaching or anything like that, just the family tie...the way it should be !! So I was well impressed, obviously some of the sheep have a streak of black .

JDubs at the mall and other inventive ways to put in "time"
by limbogirl inhas anyone else seen the jdubs at the shopping mall ??
they sit at a table with all of their wares displayed hoping to lure people away from pottery barn and macy's.
i did a double take when i saw this and then had to stand back and observe for about 20 minutes -- what i observed is that no one stops at the table except what appear to be fellow jdubs.

here in sydney, there is an old brother in a wheelchair who has a stand in Town Hall station. Town hall being Sydneys 2nd biggest and busiest train stations. He is there nearly everyday... I wonder if anyone stops to talk to him... I haven't seen that guy before Blakky, perhaps he needs a loud-hailer too! There is an older lady who is at Central Station on Tuesday afternoons, used to see her everytime....before I started using Martin Place........No loitering or busking permitted in CityRail stations; obey God as ruler rather than CityRail.

Satan rides a white horse?
by sinis inhas anyone else read revelation 6:2 and came to the conclusion that the rider of this white horse is non other than satan?
the surrounding context does not support that of the christ, as the wts says.
any thoughts?

I thought Satan rode a Harley, far more staunch than a pussy white horse !!!
